Seat Belts and Golf Carts Island County officials will get a first look at a proposal to create new “golf cart zones” at the commissioners’ workshop on Wednesday. Last spring, the state Legislature passed a bill that allows the creation of zones where golf carts [B]taylormade r11[/B] can be operated on public streets that have speed limits of 25 mph or less. The Island County Public Works Division has received a request from Beverly Beach residents for a “golf cart zone” in their neighborhood. County commissioners [B]callaway diablo edge driver[/B] will review a proposed ordinance that will set up the zones at today’s work session. Under state law, golf cart operators must be at least 16 and have completed a driver education course or have previous experience as a licensed driver. People with revoked licenses [B]diablo edge driver[/B] will not be allowed to drive golf carts on public roads. According to the county ordinance, cart drivers will need to wear seat belts and golf carts cannot be driven on public roads between one half-hour after sunset and one half-hour before sunrise.
