在第51届GRAMMY当天的颁奖礼上，尽管获奖不是最多，但毫无疑问酷玩乐队还是最受欢迎的。当天第一个重要奖项“年度歌曲奖”就是由酷玩乐队获得。乐队现场表演的时候，特邀客串嘉宾Jay-Z在歌曲《Lost》中穿插了一段说唱。这首歌同时还为乐队赢得了“最佳流行乐队/组合”的奖项。在这之后，专辑《VivaLaVidaor Death and All HisFriends》也一举夺下“最佳摇滚专辑”的大奖。
